2014-04-07

Kelprojektas was awarded the National Quality Prize-2013 in the medium-sized legal entities division. The company was valued highly for being able to constantly apply progressive and innovative solutions in the fields of business operations management, personnel management, policy and strategy, which ensured that the company was set on a path of constant improvement. The competition for the National Quality Prize is organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania.

“We may deem that a company’s activities are successful and of a high quality when its business operations are able to proceed smoothly and its employees can be proud of their establishment. We have no plans to stop here now that we’ve received this award – on the contrary, this will motivate us to continue to aim for the very best business results and to seek new, unconventional solutions,” says Algimantas Medžiaušis, CEO of Kelprojektas.

According to A. Medžiaušis, constant improvement is the only way to successfully implement strategic objectives, become recognized as a reliable and innovative partner, and provide enticing job positions to both young and experienced qualified specialists.

A company is assessed in terms of nine criteria set by the EFQM Excellence Model to determine its eligibility for the National Quality Prize: the actions of its managers, company policy and strategy, personnel management, resource management, process management, satisfaction of client needs, effect on society and business results.

To constantly improve and optimize business processes, Kelprojektas utilizes not only the newest management techniques, but also globally-accepted management systems. Management systems for quality assurance and environmental protection to regulate the operational processes of the construction’s design, the construction project’s implementation and the technical supervision of the construction works, have been in place since 2006. These management systems have been certified by “Det Norske Veritas”, an international certifying establishment.

The Ministry of Economy had been awarding the National Quality Prize to businesses since 1998. Companies are assessed with reference to the EFQM Excellence Model developed by the European Foundation for Quality Management. It is an award recognized across the whole of Europe, and stands as evidence for the recipient company’s ability to meet exceptionally high standards for company management. National Quality Prizes are awarded to the companies of 67 countries in the world – including all EU member states.

The National Quality Prize isn’t the first time Kelprojektas received recognition for its efforts to apply progressive, globally-accepted best practice management methods – in 2012, Kelprojektas won the “Innovative Company 2012” award. The company received this award in the “Innovation Prize 2012” competition for being able to apply modern technologies together with contemporary management methods and investments in its staff.
